About the Instructor

Darya is a watercolor artist based in Amsterdam. She has been drawing for many years, but it was in 2019 that watercolor came into her life and quickly became her favorite medium for its transparency, spontaneity, and interplay of color and light.

Darya teaches watercolor courses and workshops, with a special focus on creating beginner-friendly and encouraging experiences. She believes in enjoying the creative process, experimenting without fear of mistakes, and gradually building confidence in your own creative abilities.

During this watercolor workshop, we will focus on painting a cat portrait step by step. You will learn how to build the form, analyse tonal values, choose and mix colours, and create different textures in watercolor.

We will also explore which brushes work best for different effects, from soft fur to finer details, and how to use them to achieve a more convincing result.

By the end of the workshop, you will complete a finished watercolor painting.
