I have never painted with watercolors before and I’m worried that I won’t be able to keep up with the pace. Will the beginner course be suitable for me?
Our beginner courses are perfect for you, even if you have no experience with watercolors. The groups consist of people with little or no experience. The course is structured so that the first lessons cover simpler topics, and the difficulty gradually increases, but always within the group’s capabilities.
Each lesson is conducted in a workshop format. The teacher:
• explains the lesson’s topic and gives a brief theoretical overview;
• leads small exercises to help you master the material;
• demonstrates the first step, after which the group repeats it with guidance and support. The same process continues with each subsequent step until the task is completed;
• answers questions, helps those who are struggling, and provides feedback.
The teacher ensures that all participants move at a comfortable pace and finish the task by the end of the lesson.

Do I need to bring my own materials to the course? Can I use my own paper, paints, and brushes, and if so, will the course be cheaper?
The studio provides all necessary materials for the classes, including high-quality professional paper, pigments, and brushes. We understand that some students might want to use their own materials, as they might feel that expensive professional tools should only be used once they gain confidence. However, it’s important to note that cheap or inappropriate materials can make it difficult for even experienced artists to achieve good results.
Moreover, using different materials could lead to results that differ significantly from what the teacher demonstrates, which might create confusion or frustration. For this reason, it’s essential that the entire group uses the same materials as the teacher to ensure the learning process is as smooth and effective as possible.
Therefore, you don’t need to bring your own materials to class, and we don’t offer discounts for using personal supplies. However, for your practice at home, you’re welcome to use any materials you prefer, and we will be happy to recommend where to purchase the right supplies for your individual practice.
If you’d like to bring your own materials to the lesson for feedback from the teacher, feel free to do so, and we’ll discuss their use.

Are the courses suitable for children? What is the minimum age, and are there any discounts for children?
Currently, the studio does not offer separate courses for children. However, teenagers aged 12 and older may join adult courses with the consent of a parent or guardian. It’s important that the child speaks English and feels comfortable in a group of adults.
There are no discounts for children attending adult courses, as the classes are designed for an adult audience. We’re always happy to advise you on whether the course would be appropriate for your child to ensure they feel comfortable participating.

What should I do if I can’t attend a lesson?
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and we strive to be flexible with our clients. However, since we also need to cover costs, we have developed the following approach to balance flexibility with studio stability:
• You may miss one class from the course and make it up by attending a different course or a one-time 3-hour workshop (except for workshops with guest artists).
• If you know in advance that you’ll only be able to attend part of the lessons, we recommend purchasing individual lessons instead of signing up for the full course.
This approach allows us to accommodate clients’ needs while ensuring the studio remains sustainable.

I attended one class and realized that the course is not suitable for me. What should I do if I decide not to continue?
We are confident in the quality of the services we provide, and most of our students are satisfied with the results. However, if for any reason the course didn’t suit you and you’ve decided not to continue, we are happy to refund you for the remaining lessons. (The cost of attended lessons will be calculated at the full price of €70 per lesson.) We have used this approach in similar situations, as we believe it’s fair and honest.
